another reverend.

Clergy are hard at work
In response to the letter by Chuck Pezeshki (Opinion, May 21 & 22) I write
to say that the clergy of this community are at work in the fields of the
Lord and are hardly silent.
As the list coordinator for the Faith Matters Column that appears Friday in
the Daily News, I can attest that we have a regular, if limited, opportunity
to have our say in the paper under fairly restrictive guidelines that do not
allow the sort of straw-man attacks that I experience reading Ed Iverson's
columns. So, frankly, I choose not to read what he has to say.
I invite you to visit our places of worship (our services are listed each
week) where we get our opportunity regularly to speak out for the inclusive,
compassionate, creative love of God that we experience in our varied faith
traditions as we gather for worship and are commissioned to be sent out to
proclaim good news to the poor, and to set the captive free.
The Rev. Mary Beth Rivetti, Pullman
