[Vision2020] filters vs. free speech vs. civilized dialogue

For those complaining about people using filters and accusing
them of limiting free speech or insulating themselves from
alternate point of views, please note MAYBE, just maybe, the
tone and rudeness of your posts are what people want to filter
out, not the opposing viewpoints.
I like to hear everyone's viewpoints and can learn from all
sides (imagine that, people learning from a dialogue). However,
I don't care if you are liberal, conservative, neo-hippy, god-
fearing, or a tree-killing sheep-loving parakeet-eating fascist.
I am not interested in wading through paragraph upon paragraph
of juvenile name calling, swearing, insults, personal attacks,
etc.
It's the same reason why listening to Bill O'Reilly's no spin
zone and Howard Stern's All Boob Zone are equally aggravating to
me... there is no respect of alternate viewpoints or respect of
an individual.
That is what I am sick of hearing and reading and deleting...
it's like watching magpie's on a road tear apart a road-killed
squirrel.... This is what makes me unsub from Vision 2020 at
regular intervals so I can regain my sense of faith that Moscow
is really a nice place to live filled with interesting,
intelligent and respectful people not represented by the vocal
bashings representative of this list.
I am certainly not focusing only on the more conservative "side"
either, the more liberal "side" has thrown out just as ugly and
miserable crap as the other side.
Debbie
