Joan is right.  If you cannot handle a little criticism of your views,  
retreat to the choir and preach away.  No need to expose yourself to  opposing 
viewpoints, simply censor out of the dialog of anyone who dares to  disagree with 
the prevailing wisdom.  The first amendment?  Heck, that  old thing is dated 
and inappropriate in today's world.  As Joan suggested,  the answer for you 
might be to avoid challenging your beliefs and simply discuss  these issues only 
with people who's views are identical to yours.  You may  never grow 
intellectually, but it sure is easier.
 
Alternatively, you might consider engaging rather than retreating.   Your 
views have just as much value as any of ours, Sean.
