Visionaries:

According to the following Daily News story, no candidates for County
Coroner had filed by the deadline, which explains why they aren't listed on
the ballot :-)

"Eight file for Latah County elected positions; Election will be held in May

Staff report
Published: 03-21-2006

Six people filed for Latah Countys District 1 commission seat before the
Friday deadline, as did a number of other candidates for county and state
positions.
Four Republicans and two Democrats will face off in the May 23 primary
election to see whose names will appear on the November ballot to replace
retiring Commissioner Paul Kimmell.

Donald Ball, George Lisher, Donald F. Meyer, and Richard Walser will square
off in the Republican primary. On the Democrat side are John Arno and
Jennifer Barrett.

In the District 3 race, incumbent Republican Jack Nelson and Democrat Linda
S. Pike have no opposition in their respective primaries. Novembers race for
the District 3 seat will be a repeat of 2004, when Nelson and Pike faced
off.

In other county races, incumbent Republican Susan R. Petersen will face
Independent Doug Krehbiel, and incumbent Republican Treasurer Les Proctor
will face Democrat Khaliela S. Wright in the treasurers race. Republican
Connie Jain Ferguson is opposing Democrat Patrick Vaughan for county
assessor.

No one filed for the coroners position.

In legislative races, incumbent Democrat Shirley Ringo will face Genesee
Republican L. Roger Falen for state representative, position B. Incumbent
state Sen. Gary Schroeder and incumbent state Rep. Tom Trail are unopposed.
Schroeder and Trail are Republicans."

Subject: [Vision2020] Problem(s) with Sample Ballot?

Visionaries:

I'm not sure whom to ask, but has anyone else noticed a problem with the
Sample Ballot that came with today's Daily News?

I've not gone through each & every office and candidate, but there are at
least four candidates listed on the Latah County 2006 Candidates page
(http://www.latah.id.us/Elections/2006_Candidates.htm) who don't appear on
the Sample Ballot.

Can anyone shed any light on this? Is the published Sample Ballot
incomplete or incorrect, or have candidates dropped out and the County Web
site just hasn't been updated?

TIA,
