Doug Farris Writes:

How about a this class "How to Act 535: Breaking Vows and Making friends".
It's graduate level and self directed.

Me:

So does this mean you don't like the idea of a class on thinking at my
house?  The beer would even be on me.  Your proposal sounds interesting;
ethics and action could be incorporated with my suggestion I think; but the
self directed part seems a little less friendly. As for the 'Breaking Vows'
part, if this is some witty allusion to my criticism of Doug Wilson and the
subsequent handling of the backlash, I'm not sure what you are referring to.
Fighting for the peace and purity of CC has been one of my main objectives
to all my actions, and I have obeyed every single exhortation from the
Session of Christ Church. They are claiming that this is not true, but that
is just because Doug Jones and Doug Wilson like to lie about people who
criticize them, even though their lie here is well documented-this is where
the 'peace and purity' comes in. With that said, I must say I do not find
your typical actions here on Vision 2020 the most becoming of a Christian
man, particular while he is attempting to evangelize the native infidels. I
would recommend a little more sensitivity towards the feelings and beliefs
of others, and focus on charitable persuasion and less on the belittling and
insulting. I would even encourage you to make friends here on Vision 2020.
Keep in mind that your baptism relates you to the Church at large,
particularly those other churches and Christians in Moscow who do not follow
The Leader Wilson; this also puts you into a missional stance towards the
entire world: there is no longer any jew or gentile. The 'membership vow'
stuff is really problematic to begin with, as it is a secondary,
extra-biblical covenant to one splinter group with pledges of loyalty that
are already implied in a more balanced way in your original baptism. I
tried arguing this with Wilson over four years ago; his response let me know
that he wanted me to leave town. So when the opportunity came shortly
afterward I did: to study in Michigan. How in the world I got back here is
beyond me, but I'm sure some of the reasons are found in old dusty books on
psychology and cults. But anyhow, I ramble. See you around.
