SCULPTURES TO FILL THE SKYS OF MOSCOW

Sculpture class students from the University of Idaho's Department of Art and Design will share an exciting class project with the community this week.

For "Project: Blow-up!" students have made large, temporary sculptures using nothing more than plastic sheeting, packing tape, and electric fans. These colossal constructions will be inflated in Friendship Square in downtown Moscow on May 4 from 9 - 11:30 a.m. and on May 5 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

"The project gives beginning sculpture students the opportunity to create temporary public art of scale appropriate to outdoor spaces, and to explore working as members of a collaborative team," says David Drake, a sculpture area faculty member involved with the project.

The project is presented in cooperation with the Moscow Arts Commission and the Parks and Recreation Department. For information call 208-883-7036 or dheath at ci.moscow.id.us.
