Tony,

Putting aside the fact that Bush was the originator of the false intelligence; Bush is responsible, if for nothing else, then the proper use of our military. If Bush cannot do the job, he should step aside and let someone else.

Bush has failed this country on many levels, not just the handling of the war in the past, but even now. He also has failed in every area of the presidency with maybe perhaps the "do not call list", I will give him credit for that.

We cannot blame any one person for any one occurrence in the country. But Bush pushed our country into war not worth the cost, based on information that was not verified and on information that even his Secretary of State, Colin Powell, stated was knowingly false. Saddam was never a serious threat to this nation, he was contained and controlled. What was a threat, and what still remains a major threat to this country, is a billionaire named Bin Laudin that wants to do harm to his nation and 100s of nuclear weapons in unknown locations throughout the world up for sale.

Before we condemn Bush for proceeding with an invasion based on faulty intelligence, wouldn't it be fair to remember that the consensus at the time was that the threat was real? Democrats and republicans alike supported the resolution to use force. Can we put it all on Geo. W? It seems to me that second guessing those who have to make the hard decisions is an activity to be undertaken very thoughtfully.

  Best, Tony
