Donovan,
In order of your request:
Free; $24 for a fishing license ($145 non-resident); same as you pay (I was
shocked (well okay not really given the greed and corruption in the
industry) to see retail gas in Fairbanks and Moscow is the same)
On fish: the limit on chum salmon in the Yukon River is 5000, the limit for
personal use dip netting at Chitna on the Copper River is 45 (2 kings), and
the limit for Kings taken from the Chena and Nenana Rivers (both flow
through Fairbanks/ North Pole) is 2 kings/day - 5 in the freezer with a
limit on chum and sockeye at 5/day - 15 in the freezer. Halibut is 2
fish/trip 10 in the freezer

Tom,
Oranges - anywhere from $0.99/lb to $1.50; apples - $0.89 to $1.60; tomatoes
(so damn high I won't buy them); bananas around $0.80; grapefruit (and this
one will get you) average $2.90 each; Alaska potatoes are at $1.50/lb - no
Idaho potatoes here); cabbage - $1/head; Cheese - $7.99 for a Tillamook baby
loaf; chicken - $2.99/lb; hamburger - $3.50/lb; and the most important item
Oreos $4.90/box.

Sunil -
Beer is a staple.
Chris: How about the cost of frivolous items like oranges, tomatoes,
apples. You know? Fruits and veggies.

Chris,
How much is beer up there? If I remember, it's about $2 more a six pack
than in the Lower 48.
