[Vision2020] Could this be a scam?

Three times in the last week or so, I've had a message on my answering
machine telling me of an urgent matter that needs immediate response
regarding my student loan. A 800 number was provided to call. I ignored it
the first 2 times, dismissing it as a wrong number. Yesterday, after the
third message, I finally called, and apprised the lady at the other end that
I was 55 years old, had never taken a student loan in my life, having paid
for college the old-fashioned way, that being with my father's money, and
that this was a straightforward case of a wrong number. She then asked for
my social security number, which I not so politely declined to give her.
She then said she'd "fill out paperwork" to see what could be done.
Legitimate, or fishy?

                                                                     Carl
