[Vision2020] What HAS the world come to??

Well, the World Cup has taken another interesting turn today.  The Ukraine 
(yes, you read right, the UKRAINE) has advanced through the initial single 
elimination round, defeating Switzerland in Penalty Kicks, to the WC 
quarterinals against an opponent TBA (to be announced).  Heck, this is the 
first time the Ukes have even made it to the 32-team WC final!!!  What HAS 
the world come to (hence, the title)??  Not that upsets, surprises and 
cinderellas are unheard of at the World Cup.  France defeating Brazil 3-0 in 
'98 ranks near the top of the list, S. Korea beating Italy in '02, and USA 
defeating a powerful Portugal squad 3-0 in '02 also come to mind.  But never 
fear. Very few surpises, beside the Ukraine, remain after today, as Italy 
defeated Australia and England defeated Ecuador.  Brazil will play Ghana 
tomorrow, but who could doubt the outcome of that match??  No, pretty much 
from here on out, the heavyweights will bel slugging it out with one another 
for the title of World Champion.  Other scores: Portugal defeats the 
Netherlands 1-0 over the weekend, a very physical match and an extreme 
disappointment to the Dutch.
