>From today's (June 24, 2006) Spokesman Review with a special thanks to
Richard Snow of Spokane who echoes the sentiments of, as Don Meyers would
claim, local "left wing nuts", of which I proudly claim to be a member.

Support stops with troops

I read Nancy Jo Roth's heartfelt "Unite behind war effort" in the June 21
Spokesman-Review and felt her palpable pain worrying about her son. Having
spent 20 years in the military, I know there were times my mother worried
about me. My support for any member of the military, wherever they may be in
the world, is unconditional.

This unconditional support goes beyond a magnetic yellow ribbon - actions
speak louder than words in my paradigm. So I'm compelled to speak out
against the war and the current administration in addition to the care
packages sent to military members at risk. President Bush does not receive
support from me, unconditional or otherwise, when it comes to Iraq.

Please do not accuse me of not supporting the troops because I don't support
the war. Ms. Roth's son deserves a hero's welcome when he returns safely.
