[Vision2020] HELP, HELP, I'm bein' oppressed (w/ an English accent)

On the topic of Futbol, aka Soccer or Kickball, I must say that the passion
of guys like David Williams has inspired me to put more thought into it.
Being a passionate fan (well, more player than fan) of Tennis and Rugby, I
can say that my biggest grief with Soccer was always that I felt it
encouraged players to act like wusses (the same way B-Ball tends to
encourage players to be flashy....and 10 feet tall). But, something my
brother pointed out to me is that Futbol is entirely a game of finess and
communication. An aspect of rugby that I love is the way that it flows
organically (unlike American football - which I think is the Henry Ford
model applied to sport, rugby actually.) with plays developing on the fly.
There are very few set plays in rugby so communication is entirely
non-verbal.
I think, particularly those who have experience playing, it is this sort of
non-verbal, almost ESP, that amazes fans. In soccer, the finess and touch
that's involved (see David's comment about the score by the Brazilian) is
it's specialty.

So, while watching men try to hit a round ball flying at 100mph with a round
bat is beautiful in it's own covenantal way (see Deacon James), it certainly
doesn't have the corner on the market in terms of it's ability to insire
awe.
