The people of Moscow were well aware of then "private" Citizen Ament's
positions on virtually all issues important to Moscow when a majority of
those that voted elected him onto the city council.

Aaron Ament won a one-on-one election for a two-year seat. This speaks
volumes. He won with a majority vote.

Perhaps that same majority that placed Aaron Ament onto the Moscow City
Council did so NOT in spite of his comments, but BECAUSE of them.

For a long time, prior to January 3rd of this year, the Moscow City Council
merely "rubber stamped" rezoning applications, ultimately reducing
enforcement of the city zoning code.

January 3, 2006 should have served as a wake-up. Suddenly the Moscow City
Council stood on its feet and grew a backbone. It was no longer "business
as usual". Certain people were upset that what once was "rubber stamped"
was (and is) being questioned, verified, and validated by standards
established within the Moscow City Zoning Code.

The excuse, "They let us do it before," doesn't cut muster. You see . . .
Boss Tweed is gone now. The laws that apply to the grocery bagger at
Rosauers also apply to the mayor, the UI President, me, the bartenders at
John's Alley, and . . . oh, yeah . . . the staff and management of New saint
Andrews College.

So, you see. The voting majority last November wanted Aaron Ament on our
city council because, if they believe like I do, laws or only as good as
those that enforce them.

Seeya round town, Moscow.
