math was considered a clearer measure of a school's overall effectiveness.

 

It seems many private schools downgrade math for that of language, reading,
logic, literature, and history.  I'm surprised researchers determined that
knowledge of math was considered "a clearer measure."  But the data is
interesting none the less.
