[Vision2020] Wal-Mart is Unwelcome

Walmart could possibly change people's opportunities, but it is not 
being built in those neighborhoods.  The proposed site is at Regal and 
44th or 43rd. At the top south side of the south hill, near Ferris 
High School.  My mom and her husband live less than a mile from the 
proposed site and are not looking forward to a Supercenter in the 
neighborhood.

When Walmart moved in to the Shadle area of Spokane it did lift the 
neighborhood and many folks from the area are employed there.  When 
the Walmart went in in Spokane Valley the results were not the same.  
Quite streets because major through ways.  Who knows what the impact 
of the south hill Walmart might be.  It is a very complex set of 
issues in a complex section of Spokane.
