Mr. Reynolds -

Let me preface my comments with one short statement.

Lemmings don't last long in the Army.

Soldiers are trained to work as a unit and think on their feet. That is how
privates become NCOs (non-commissioned officers). Those that fail to lead
and show no more potential than a broken hat rack (as your impression of
soldiers portrays) are usually shown the door by the end of their first
enlistment.

There is a story that I became familiar with early in my Army career that
exemplifies what I am trying to get across to you. It is titled "A Message
to Garcia" by Elbert Hubbard.

Mr. Reynolds, that story is what soldiering is all about. I suggest you
read it.

Take care, Moscow.
