Mr. Hansen, My idea of romanticism is that it was a movement of the late eighteenth century that celebrated nature rather than civilization and implied impractical romantic ideals and attitudes. Or did you mean romance? If so, I am afraid I am going to decline to answer since most civilized folks consider that a matter between the two involved parties. Not a topic for public discussion, no matter how prurient your interest. By the way, you might reread the last sentence of your last post to Mr. Arnold and apply those same standards yourself. In a previous post I think I made myself clear as to how much "distance" between us I think is appropriate.

Mr. Hansen,
No apologies necessary and no ill feelings from this end -- I was not insulted, offended, or anything else -- just letting you know that your perception was somewhat incorrect (something that I'd guess happens as much as not in this forum).
Regards,
-- Barb (and please feel free to call me that)

Visionaires -
Two things.
1) My sincerest apologies to Ms. Crabtreefor any ill feeling that I may have caused by my comments. If you re-read thestatement, Arnold, you will realize that I attacked G. Crabtree, NOT Ms. Crabtree. However, myapology stands as stated.
2) Arnold: As I have stated before, in civil society people do not address others by theirfirst name unless they are invited to do so. Please continue to address me as "Hansen",or "Handsin", or a more civil "Mr. Hansen". I wouldappreciate maintaining the distance, ok?

Tom,
I believe you will want to treat those 3rd degree burns on your arse. I advisein the future you do not bring a man's wife into your personal attacks onpeople you disagree with.

Hi Tom,
I hate to introduce a little reality into the discussion, but Gary and I have been married for 29 years, and I don't think I've ever run out for a six pack. And, I'm the only football fan in the house. We do have two daughters -- one who trains horses and the other a senior at UI. Personally, I'll support anything career-wise that they want to do. I suspect I'd prefer some careers more than! others, but that is their choice.
By the way, I had fun with everyone's reminiscing about Moscow. One of my favorite places when I was a kid was the soda fountain at the Owl Drug, where we always stopped for a 5 cent root beer after the movie at the Kenworthy.

Well, Golly G -
Apparently the G-ster would not like hisdaughter to grow up with a strong sense of independent self-worth.
My guess is that G's idea ofromanticism amounts to nothing more than sending the old lady out for asix-pack at half-time, huh?
Take care, Moscow.
