  Pat and all,

A healthy skepticism of any source is a good thing.

  How about the BBC:

  http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/4613108.stm

or the Daily Times of Pakistan:

  http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?page=2006%5C01%5C15%5Cstory_15-1-2006_pg1_4

  or Radio New Zealand:

  http://www.radionz.co.nz/news/bulletins/radionz/200601150838/2dc952c8

  or the Turkish Zaman:

  http://www.zaman.com/?bl=hotnews&alt=&trh=20060114&hn=28625

  or Aljazeera:

  http://www.zaman.com/?bl=hotnews&alt=&trh=20060114&hn=28625

or the DEBKAfile from Israel (they have a link on the main page if you want to read it in Hebrew):

  http://www.debka.com/headline.php?hid=1636

If you do a Google News search for "pakistan air strike protest" you can find about 280 stories to choose from.

Those prosecuting the Bush administration's "war on terrorism" would do well to find more reliable sources of information instead of just taking the word of those that tell them what they want to hear.

"According to DEBKAfile's sources, Minister Sherpao's remark indicates that al Qaeda or Taliban had managed to plant a false lead with US intelligence by means of informers. This decoy operation had two objectives:

  1. To confuse the commanders of the American forces hunting for bin Laden and Mullah Omar and expose their failure to penetrate al Qaeda's top ranks.

  2. To expose US pursuit tactics and uncover any American collaborators in their midst. The speed with which the news of the air raid appeared on US TV channels Friday night was a mark of the CIA's certainty that this time it had hit one of its primary marks in the war on terror, Zawahiri."

Well of course he did! He read it in the American Press so it must be true!

      All:

This associated press news story about the US military attack in Pakistan that some claim killed Al Queda's second in command, Al Zawahiri, suggests this action may have done more harm than good in the so called "war on terror." A local lawmaker in Pakistan, Sahibzada Haroon ur Rashid, called this US military attack "open terrorism," according to this news report:
