Pat,
I disagree with this, for reasons that I've stated. Some people shop at Paradise Ridge for things that distinguish them from others but it is not clear that enough people shop there for that reason. Others shop there and shop at Win Co. If they can get it all with one stop shopping at the Super Wal-Mart, why would they go out of their way to return to Paradise Ridge? The question is whether the particular, individual choice driven shoppers like myself are enough to sustain Paradise Ridge. I doubt that they are. They need the general shoppers, as well.
This is just one example of an unintended effect of a Super Wal-Mart. There are lots of others.
