Don

What the amount of land has to do with it is fairly simple. You are citing
a few thousands of acres in one bad management area. I was citing among
others, the Targhee Caribou where the clear cutting was over a million
acres, which is almost more forested land than IDL manages altogether. You
cite one small creek drainage and I can return to USFS clear cuts that
covered complete River systems.

Nobody is without sin here. The USFS, the BLM, IDL and private timber all
have a lot of bad record to live down.

http://www2.state.id.us/lands/Areas/PriestLake.htm

That is the Priest Lake SA for IDL and they manage 184,000 acres total and
cut 400-500 acres a year. There are individual clear cut areas on the
Targhee that are bigger than the whole ownership in the Priest Lake SA. So
which is more egregious?
