Sheesh. I leave Brother Carl alone for one weekend while I get a little R
and R in Portland, and look what happens. From today's Chicago Tribune:

Semi load of beer vanishes

WEST BEND, Wis. -- The thieves could be having one heck of a beer bash.
That's unless the law catches up with them.

A semi trailer loaded with Miller beer has disappeared from a trucking
company in Washington County.

A load with nearly two-thousand cans and bottles of Genuine Draft, MGD and
Miller Lite worth more than $25,000 has vanished from Millis Transfer in
Richfield.

The beer was dropped off February 17th for delivery to a beer distributor
in Menomonee Falls. During an inventory check later that day, the trailer
was discovered missing.

The company spent the next few days determining whether one of their
drivers had picked up the wrong load. But, that wasn't the case, so the
company called the sheriff's department.

The trailer was found earlier this week at an Oak Creek trucking firm --
minus the beer.

I hope you're enjoying yourself, Brother Carl, but when you find that
you've shot a 75 above par at Pebble Beach on your X-Box, don't come
crying to me. Oh, and I nearly forgot: the Moscow Public Library called.
Would you please move that beer-filled semi? Not right away, of course;
they said next month will do. They also want to know if you could loan
them a pair of bolt cutters . . .

PS: A quick FYI -- Brother Carl and I will not be doing our show on KRFP
this Sunday. I'm in Portland, and Carl is . . . being naughty. Instead,
our good friend and excellent DJ, Ms. Sierra Valentine, will be subbing
for us. She plays terrific music, so please do tune in. For those of you
who missed the announcement back in January, the Auntie Establishment &
Brother Carl Show is now on from 2 to 4 PM on Sundays, not 3 to 5 or 5 to
7. Carl, who's a morning person, keeps moving our time slot back, back,
back. One of these days, I'm going to find out that he's scheduled us for
the Wake the Chickens 6 AM slot.  This is NOT because Carl is an old man;
it's because he and Eva Longoria go to bed so early.
