[Vision2020] Bird Flu

I have "lurked" around the 20/20 site for some time.  Recently though I have
felt a strong need to post a message regarding the Avian Influenza.  Let me
first say that I am not a scientist.  But in everything that I have read, we
are very close to a point where a pandemic is a real possibility.  I would
strongly suggest that readers take a look at some of the many sites on the
web that have popped up to discuss this issue. (I stop by "fluwikie.com" for
news and research)

 

A event like the 1918 Pandemic would have devastating effects on our
community, nation and the world.  The issues of whether to say the Pledge of
Allegiance, Walmarts, comprehensive plans will be forgotten when hospitals
are overrun and supplies run out.

 

It is in the best interest of the Moscow-Pullman community that as many
people as possible take steps to prepare.  Those that fail to prepare will
tax already stressed city, county and state officials. (Katrina aftermath
will look tame in comparison)

 

I hope that this note encourages a few people to look at the risk.
