Amen, Keely!  

And, yes, I'm TOTALLY TIRED of the Clinton discussion -- the only possible
current relevance I see is for those looking to make excuses for more
current reprehensible behavior by Republicans as though two (or more) wrongs
make a right.  That dog don't hunt, folks, so GIVE IT UP.  I'd surely
appreciate the same ire being raised about the more current scandals, but I
guess those who keep bringing this up would rather focus on the past rather
than look at culpability and responsibility for current issues.

More than being tired, however, as a woman, I am INCREDIBLY OFFENDED that
some on this list serve are h*ll-bent & determined to make the whole sorry
sordid ancient affair by two mutually consenting adults into something it
wasn't.  Keely is right that some comments have been nothing more than
vitriol when words like "abuse" and "predator" have been inappropriately
used.  Worse, it trivializes *real* abuse and predatory behavior.

While I think Mr. Crabtree brought up a valid point (and one that was
extensively discussed at the time) about the power differential between
former President Clinton and Ms. Lewinski, in the final analysis, I think we
have to accept Ms. Lewinski's own words about the consensual nature of the
adult relationship:
"This was a mutual relationship, mutual on all levels, right from the way it
started and all the way through."
No abuse, no harassment, no predatory behavior, which I know deeply
disappoints the local reactionaries!

One last thing:  as with so many other facts, Tony Simpson is deeply
confused.  The dress in question was blue rather than red -- he seems to
have confused The Scarlet Letter with the color of Ms. Lewinski's dress.
Perhaps if he had a better grasp of the details, he would grasp the
reprehensible nature of his behavior her on V2020.  Personally, I'm not
holding my breath waiting for decency from someone who thinks it perfectly
acceptably to use ethnic/racial slurs to describe "only some" of any
category.  Here's still hoping that Tony's livelihood picks back up so he'll
have less time to spew his vitriol on V2020!

You owe Bob Greene an apology.  Bookpeople is one of the best things about
living in Moscow and a fine example of free-market capitalism.  Bob, the
owner, and Betsy Dickow, a long-time employee, are outstanding citizens and
I have been immeasurably encouraged by their example and their friendship.

I'm tired of the Clinton discussion, but truly sick of Tony's vitriol.

exposure of one of the most corrupt presidents in history.  If Bill
Clinton's horrendous conduct during his tenure is a source of embarrassment
