[Vision2020] William Jefferson --

For those of you that were wondering whether William Jefferson would
pose an enormous problem for the Democrats this year, it appears as
though he isn't. Toward the end of last year,  Nancy Pelosi stripped
him of his committee assignments. As committee assignments are
reassigned in the next congress, there was a question of whether
William Jefferson was going to be reappointed to his committees. It
appears as though he won't. Instead, Artur Davis (D-AL) is being
appointed to his seat on the House Ways and Means Committee -- a move
that will both appease the Congressional Black Caucus and keep a
corrupt congressman out of power.
