"The Mayor suggested a pedestrian activated light, which I agree is a
good idea. These are more expensive than a stop sign and usually
require funding which takes several years. We could do a 4 way stop
until pedestrian activated lights could be installed, if that is
something our leaders would want to do."
I recall when that came up during the Transportation Commission meeting.
Seemed like the best way to go, to me, allowing free flow of traffic
during off hours, and giving the kids (and other pedestrians) a way to
"control their fate", so to speak, as far as crossing Mountain View.
While most funding sources have a 3-4 year lag time, I thought there was
something mentioned in that same meeting about some other sources that
could be tapped to make the pedestrian activated light. Let's hope Thee
