Sunil,
I really do not believe Iraq will ever become a democracy. I really can't
imagine any Muslim nation ever being a real, true democracy. There is too
much hatred of everyone who does not agree 100% with the political and
religious philosophies of someone else. I just don't believe Muslims are
capable of any real change in that.
I disagree with George Bush and the administration when they talk about
regime change in terms of creating a democratic society in Iraq. I would be
happy to see Iraq become united under any government that would be friendly
toward the west, but I also don't really think that will happen either.
So, you might ask, what would constitute a victory in Iraq, in my mind? I
would think the creation of a seperat nation for the Kurds, up north, would
be a good start. Then I would be willing to consider bringing our troops
home, dropping leafelets on the rest of Iraq, Iran and Syria notifying them
they had 48 hours to either disarm and stop supporting state sponsored
terrorism against the rest of the world or they would be turned into a huge
glass fish bowl.
I would be true to my word. Call me a racist but I am beginning to believe
the Muslim Religion, as a whole, is never going to get along with the rest
of the world. Just pulling out would only encourage them to sponsor even
more terrorism on the rest of the world.
Live by the sword, die by the sword.... What other answer is there when
dealing with people who worship death as the ultimate reward? Give them
what they want and let them enjoy their virgins.
Dick S.
