Copied and pasted below is an article from the July 25, 2006 Moscow-Pullman
Daily News.

According to this article, the affected streets are:

"Lauder Street from U.S. Highway 95 to Taylor Street, Sixth Street from
Blaine Street to Mountain View Road, Third Street from Hayes Street to
Cleveland Street and F Street from Hayes Street to Orchard Avenue."

Is anybody aware of any additional closings/construction?

City will spend more money for summer road work

Staff report

The city of Moscow will contribute an additional $80,000 to overlay arterial
and collector streets throughout Moscow later this summer.

The city originally estimated the cost of the project at $435,000, but only
received one bid, from Poe Asphalt, for $520,000.

The Idaho Department of Transportation is funding most of the project
through a grant, but the city needs to come up with the extra money.

Moscow Public Works Director Les MacDonald said the difference in the
projected bid and the actual bid is largely due to rising asphalt and
excavation unit prices, which likely will continue to rise.

The streets that will be improved are Lauder Street from U.S. Highway 95 to
Taylor Street, Sixth Street from Blaine Street to Mountain View Road, Third
Street from Hayes Street to Cleveland Street and F Street from Hayes Street
to Orchard Avenue.

The $80,000 would originally come from the Mountain View Road capital
project fund and would then be replaced with overlay funds during the
2006-2007 fiscal year.

City Supervisor Gary Riedner said there is no current project planned on
Mountain View Road for the 2005-2006 year, so the funds are not required for
any other project.

Administrative Committee member John Weber supported going forward with the
overlay project without reducing the scope.

"I don't think the cost of asphalt is going to go down," he said.

MacDonald said the project likely will start in August.
