[Vision2020] Not supporting Mudslinging

Dear Donovan,

You did work hard on my campaign for Council and I still appreciate
those efforts. You acknowledge that I have been a valuable member of
City Council for two years. You know that I am an honest, fair, civil,
intelligent person. Presumably, you will also surmise that I would have
none of the tactics posted by the likes of "Jane Doe." Please do not
confuse my opinions, practices, or personal integrity with the likes of
those who get their satisfaction from slinging mud.

The first I heard about Vera's fateful column came from Peg, just before
it ran. She and I privately cleared the air of concerns relating to the
fallout. I am confident that if you ask her, she will affirm that
there's no way I would inspire, encourage, support, or tolerate the
practices so abhorrent to you and to me.

The outcome of this election is too important to base our votes on
gossip, superficial appearances, peripheral smokescreens, or single
issues. In many ways, the mayor represents our entire community. I
encourage you and everyone else to be as well informed as possible and
to vote your conscience. The best candidate should be mayor, not just
the one who is left standing in the mud bath. I invite your comments and
questions. Donovan, you know me better that that!

Sincerely,
Nancy Chaney

Subject: [Vision2020] Not Supporting Chaney; Not supporting Mudslinging

This is at least the third time people supporting
Nancy Chaney for Mayor have resorted to this garbage
and distortion of a facts. In addition, two other
candidates opposed to MCA candidates and supported by
Bill London have been smeared. These growing number of
attacks on three people from one group of people
cannot be just an accident in the rational mind of a
voter.

I worked very hard for Nancy on her campaign for City
Council. I am a member of MCA. Nancy has been a
valuable member of the council for almost two years
and I still will vote for Bob Stout, so long as he
stays clear of these vile tactics.

However, I will not be supporting these tactics that
are insulting to the people of Moscow and have no
place in our community!

I will be voting for and supporting Peg Hamlett for
Mayor. Those that do not, understand that you are
supporting these mudslinging tactics from the few that
care only about their wins, not the community. Issues
aside, above all, I want my political leaders and
their highly appointed supporters to be fair-minded
and ethical in how they obtain office.

Take Care,

Donovan J Arnold
