[Vision2020] City council elections-immediate appt. of Mr. Ament

In case people don't remember, Ms. Chaney also replaced someone for her
two-year position.  She was sworn in at the first meeting in January,
just like Linda Pall, John Dickinson, and Jack Hill were.

Maybe that is not the "Letter" of the law, but I'm sure it is the
"spirit".

If there is a case in Idaho where the "new guy" was installed prior to
the rest of the newly elected, I'd be curious to know.

Dan,

Unfortunately it is not about Aaron. It is about
following the will of the people. If the law says the
term shall run from November 2005- January of 2008,
then that is the time it shall be. It does not matter
if Aaron is willing to start casting votes in February
of 2007 as long as it is fine with Jon and Nancy. 

It is important that the city follow state law when
casting votes. If a ruling comes down where Jon makes
a deciding vote, the decision can be challenged in
court because he was not legally a voting member of
the council. If you think the zoning code issue is a
fiasco now, throw that monkey wrench in there and see
what happens.
