[Vision2020] Kirk email

Michael,

Sorry, I wasn’t trying to be obscure. My post was a light-hearted attempt to
draw attention to yet another example of apparent disingenuousness on the
part of those who speak, officially or otherwise, for the covenant community
of those who attend Christ Church or Trinity Reformed Church. Dale Courtney
has established himself as such a spokesman, and recently sent an email
blast concerning the Questionnaire prepared by the six-member “group of
citizens desiring a return to civility in Moscow.” In the body of the email
was the statement, “With that in mind, a group of six Christ Church/Trinity
Reformed members (without any direction from the elders, it is important to
note), created a questionnaire that was sent to each of the candidates.”
Thus, Dale explicitly denied any involvement by the elders of Christ Church
in the preparation of the Questionnaire. Yet a simple examination of the
document metadata (appended below) seems to indicate a different scenario.

Now there's probably a simple explanation that doesn't involve deceit on
anyone's part, but it doesn't look good, and it only serves to confirm what
many on the other side of your covenantal divide have come to believe about
the honesty of kirk-community spokesmen. A return to civility in Moscow will
require more than just a whitewash treatment of malice and bitterness. On
the upside, at least the false impression was left with only those within
the covenant community, and not with the community at large. Hope this
helps.

Terry
