Veterans Week and Elections- Don Meyer

Hansen makes reference to the contributions that Vets have made to the 
freedoms we all enjoy and here we are at the annual celebration of Veterans 
Day and it also happens to be Election week here in Moscow as well.

Don Meyer is running for one of the four year spots on the City Council and 
Don is not only a Vet, he is active in the leadership of the VFW, one of the 
two organizations dedicated for all these many years in seeing that Vets are 
taken care of.  Members of the VFW and the American Legion renew their oaths 
to defend and protect the Constitution of the United States against all 
enemies both Foreign and Domestic, something not required for local 
officials.  So not only has Don given of himself on the field of battle for 
your freedoms, he continues to fight for your freedoms and to see that those 
who have made that sacrifice are honored.

As you honor those who have sacrificed for our country this week, in this 
week when we also remember those who are at this minute in harms way 
overseas, remember that many of those who have served in the past are still 
serving within our community.  Don Meyer is a grand example of how Vets 
continue to give to their communities, long after their combat service is 
over.
