Michael,

Joan has the ability to worship and define whatever

God(s) she pleases without you telling her what type of attributes
He/She/It/They have.

And so do you. You have the ability to create God in your own image as do
the 6 billion other people on this planet. What you have the inability to
do - although try as you might - is to define anyone else's Gods for them.

Me:

I had a feeling that first paragraph might not sit right with some.
However, I was not anticipating this response. So what you are saying,
Scott, is that my analysis of Joan's god doesn't work? Perhaps it would be
helpful for you to point out how this is the case. Joan said that she
worships the non-Trinitarian god of the Jews. She was emphasizing the
oneness of God (all in one piece) and the context was the fact that human
sexuality doesn't reveal anything about God. This is what it seemed she was
saying to me anyway. It seems that I have just attempted to analyze just a
bit Joan's own definition for her god. A monolithic god without any other
corresponding personhood means that Joan's god existed from eternity by
her/himself. Therefore, if there would be any sexuality with Joan's god,
it would seem to be something corresponding more to masturbation than
marital sex. Her own description of human sexuality seemed to line up with
this well too. So she seems to have a fairly coherent point of view on
this. So what am I missing?

Thanks
