[Vision2020] Palouse Mall bus stop

Open Letter to Jim Bendickson, property manager, Palouse Mall

    Starting tomorrow, June 1, the Wheatland Express bus will no longer stop at the Palouse Mall.  For several years, bus riders have been able to park their cars at the mall's huge parking lot and take the bus to Pullman and WSU.  Now, this will no longer be possible.
    The bus will now stop instead at the University of Idaho gravel parking lot west of the Kibbie Dome.  And bus riders will have to pay $55 per year to be able to park there year-round.
    I believe your unwillingness to accommodate the bus in your huge parking lot will have the following results:
    *individual bus riders will be inconvenienced and angry.
    *bus ridership will drop as commuters will choose to drive to Pullman instead of parking at the mall and taking the bus
    *the number of shoppers at the mall from Pullman (especially students) will drop significantly
    *more Moscow residents, who were previously outraged by your decision to cut the trees along the highway in clear violation of city ordinance, will decide to boycott the Palouse Mall to show their opposition to this latest decision.
