J,
they are a PRIVATE institution that does NOT receive
any public monies what-so-ever and are NOT, therefore,
under any obligation to be qualified or approved or
accreditated of by the State of Idaho
Accreditation has nothing to do with a school being
private or not. Harvard, Yale, and Albertson are all
accredited private colleges. Meanwhile, public
institutions like Lewis and Clark have numerous
programs that are not accredited like their nursing
program.
There is nothing in the law that changes the city
definition of Educational Institution based on if
they need accreditation or not. It simply states it
must have it, not why, not maybe, or unless, it must.
Lawmakers do understand the difference between an
accredited or non-accredited college it did not just
get slipped into the law by accident. It was
intentionally put there.
