Bush Still Pitching Retirement Plan to People Who Can't Afford to Retire

Canton, Miss. - President Bush pitched the latest model of his completely
remodeled Social Security savings plan to blue-collar workers this week who
most needed a "fool-proof" plan. However, the White House suggested that
Bush wasn't wedded to any particular formula for reducing the promised
future benefits. In fact, at press time, it is only known for sure that Bush
is wedded to a spouse that likes to joke about him touching horse penises
while comedians Al Franken and Bill Mahr sit in her captive audience waiting
for their heads to explode. Bush's plan, which would allow benefits to rise
for most of the lower income retirees provided they could retire before they
receive the death benefit of Social Security, has drawn widespread criticism
from, well, pretty much everybody. It's really the only thing that Democrats
and Republicans can see eye to eye on. In his speech before auto workers,
the president called his new indexing proposal an attempt "to help people
come up with a solution to my solvency problem." And he further added, "I
hope it makes sense to the U.S. Congress. It sure makes sense to me. More
sense anyway than Laura thinking I'd be going and filching my friend
Flicka."

Take care, Moscow.

"What is objectionable, what is dangerous, about extremists is not that they
are extreme, but that they are intolerant. The evil is not what they say
about their cause, but what they say about their opponents."

-- Robert F. Kennedy
