Andreas,

You are incorrect when you write, "Kibbie belongs to ASUI, which is not an
agent of the state but a private assocaiation."

The ASUI is a government organization. It is a department of the University
of Idaho. It even has the name "University of Idaho" in it, which is the
property of the State of Idaho. No organization can legally have the words
"University of Idaho" in the name unless it is approved by the State. The
President of the University must even sign and approve any changes to the
ASUI Constitution.

ASUI is required by law to follow all state laws because it is a subsidiary
department of the state and is 100% funded by the State through state fees.
State law prevents discrimination or access to its buildings on the bases of
religion. If ASUI was to try and deny Christ Church access to the Kibbie
Dome because they disagreed with their teachings the UI Administration
could, would, and should stop them. Just as if the majority of students
wanted to stop a group expressing gay rights or concerns.

Second, the ASUI Constitution itself expressly forbids ASUI or any of its
subsidiary departments from denying someone access to anything funded by
ASUI because of their religion. This is an internal law.

Finally, equal access means EQUAL ACCESS. That means all groups, regardless
of religion, in fact have the SAME access rights as if they were any other
group. PERIOD.

Sorry, but there is no clause in the ASUI Constitution that says *equality*
does not apply to people if we vehemently disagree with their religious or
political beliefs.

These laws also protect you.

Take Care,

Former ASUI Senator and Guy who wrote part of the current ASUI Constitution
