I do not disagree that Wilson, et al has a right to speak and hold whatever
event they wish. What I disagree with is that we, the tax paying public,
has to foot the bill for his hatred. Don't be fooled here, he does espouse
hate - in his "sermons," his life style, his events, etc. The man
practically exudes the stuff from his pores.
Fact is, this is a RELIGIOUS function being held on a PUBLIC and PUBLICALLY
funded property. They are promoting their RELIGIOUS view of history
("forget the facts, Ma'm...listen to MY words of truth") and I do not feel
we should have to face the embarrassment and questions the rest of the U.S.
public may heap on us due to his events. I don't believe this can be good
for the University; people do look at what events are being held at a
college/university and part of their decision to send their children to an
institution is based on that.
Does anyone know when the last time was that WSU allowed such an event on
their public property? Any event sponsored by a religious group?
I am not saying Wilson should not be allowed to have his say - I just
question his right to say it at OUR expense.
Events such as the one that came across earlier, AARP, benefit the
public...Wilson's events benefit only his people - the rest of us be damned.
