[Vision2020] Moscow City Council Ignores Due Process

Mr. Dickison stated he was not allowed to present "evidence" to the Board of
Adjustment - he's right about part of that sentence - he was not allowed to
present what would have been "character assignation" as evidence to the BOA.
He was told several times to not bring up the gent's reasons (legally, you
can not "speculate" about a person's motives unless you have evidence in
fact - which Mr. Dickison did not have) for the complaint against NSA, but
tried to anyway. He was given plenty of chance to argue his case by fact -
and in truth, did, to the tune of nine pages. The other was and is
irrelevant.

Secondly, at last night's Council Meeting Mr. Dickison was given plenty of
opportunity to present what "evidence" he had but refused to, claiming he
did not get the information the complainants had until the last BOA meeting
- over three weeks ago, he was given this information and he can't get his
act together in enough time to present to a Council Meeting he knew was last
night? He asked for the information at that meeting and was handed a copy
of everything they had, that night. He claims later he was told that was
all he would be getting, but even that was a lie. He is just as capable and
should have gotten off his duff, made a phone call to the complaint's
attorney, or failing that, go to City Hall and ask for the ordences and
copies of anything the Council Members were given. He chose to do neither.

Mr. Dickison was at the podium for over ten minutes last night and he did
nothing more productive with his time but whine...must rub off or something
as Doug was sitting right behind him. Anyway, Mr. Dickison spent two of
those minutes telling the audience and council members how he'd "discovered"
the likeness of his name to John Dickinson. Yeah, that was prudent use of
time.

What Mr. Fife told the Council Members was that by LAW, they could not
accept any new information - they could only consider what was in their
packet of what the BOA had been able to review and decide on. That packet
included any and all information that NSA/Mr. Dickison chose to give to the
BOA at the time of the BOA hearings (yeah, there was more than one on this
issue.) Mr. Dickison's lack of preparedness is not the problem of the
Council or the complainents nor should it be. If he can't get his act
together in time, that is his issue and possibly a point for his "clients"
to consider - do you really want a person working for you that can't seem to
get his research done in time for a very publicly time-published meeting?

This type of thing is akin to a jury being given a case for deliberation but
then the defendants saying "hey wait, I didn't get a chance to give you this
information." Sorry, that's not how things work.

I refuse to address Mr. A's obvious lack of understanding of the process of
the complaint system save to say - read the code, go to the meetings, listen
and stand up during the public speaking portions - if you really feel like
people are not being heard, do something positive and get involved. Whining
about it later makes no sense and no change.

Doing your own thinking and not parroting what others tell you is a wise way
to go through life.
