If you had been following the trial, like many of us have, you would know
that Killen's trial was initially scheduled for last March.  But, it was
delayed until June.

 

Do you know why it was delayed?  (theme from Jeopardy plays quietly in the
background) *ring* Time's up.  I didn't think you knew.  So, I will tell
you.  

 

Mr. Killen's trial, that was originally scheduled for March, was delayed
until June because Mr. Killen had suffered a broken leg in a logging
accident.  A LOGGING ACCIDENT!  Not bad for a "sick old man", huh?

 

As far as "40 years later" is concerned.  GET FRIGGIN' REAL!!  The man is
guilty (and was convicted) of killing three human beings.  Last time I
checked there is no statute of limitations on murder.

 

This conviction not only restores some degree of justice in a region that
has lived for a long time on the old concept that "White makes Right", it
further offers a sense of closure to three families that have waited for 41
years for simple responses to two basic questions:  Who? And Why?

 

Now, perhaps, Philadelphia, Mississippi's light shines a little brighter on
peoples of all colors.

Spend all that time and money on putting a sick old man in jail. That's
crazy.  Look at all the sick perverts running around raping and killing
kids. A lot of them have been in jail for it, but the cops don't know where
half these ex con perverts are even. They caught one the other day in
California who was in prison for it over and over but got out and raped
hundreds or even thousands more kids. Cops should worry about stopping these
sex perverts and killers and saving kids now instead of about something 40
years later. That was just for show.
