Would you care to expound, Pat, on what exactly Mark Felt lied about?
Was it Nixon's role in the Watergate cover-up? No . . . John Dean
(Nixon's counsel) has long since confirmed that Nixon was hands-on in
that regard. Did Felt lie about the break-ins themselves? No . . . G.
Gordon Liddy, architect of the burglaries, has confirmed that they took
place, and he's quite unapologetic about it. So what, exactly, did Mr.
Felt lie about? And let's remind ourselves: as an FBI agent, Mark Felt
took an oath to do what? To support and defend the Constitution,
that's what. How did exposing Nixon's abuse of that document violate
Mark Felt's oath? My father-in-law took an oath to support and defend
the Constitution as a US Marine, and he assures me that fulfilling that
oath had nothing whatsoever to do with aiding and abetting a
law-breaking commander-in-chief. Quite the opposite, in fact.

Mr. Felt was a whistle-blower, plain and simple. What did that earn
him? Thirty years of anonymity. Not money, not movie rights, and
certainly not universal approval and acclaim.

Finally, I have to wonder, how is this 91 year-old man going to spend
the great wads of cash that Pat imagines this revelation will earn him?
Has someone given Anna Nicole Smith and the company that makes Viagra
his phone number? There's only so much a 91 year-old can do with money
-- taking it with him to the mausoleum being option number one.

Mark Felt might have one foot in the grave and the other on a banana
peel, but that's one up on Pat; she seems to have neither of her hooves
in reality.
