Visionaries:
I hope that a large number of Moscow's residents will turn out tonight for
the P & Z meeting. I understand the commission will be grappling with the
definition of schools. As they struggle to reinvent that wheel, many of us are
aware that those definitions already exist in city code - Chapter 11-9
definitions 79 - 80

Perhaps, P & Z commission members could consult Doug Wilson for his thoughts
on the matter. His recent posting entitled "The Sound of Splintering" gives
us (and them) the opportunity to reflect on his hope regarding "man made
rules." It reads in part:
"As we worship God in this small town, we want to do so in such a way that
all the autonomous man-made structures of it are brought to the point of
collapse. They cannot bear the weight of God’s glory which we, through our
worship, are bringing into our community. Of course, apart from the grace of God,
established in the ordinances of His church, we cannot bear that weight either.
This means that the ordinances of our own devising must go. What we hold to
is not always what the Bible requires."
No doubt Massa W. will try to slip, slide, and squirm his way out of
admitting that he was writing about zoning rules and city ordinances. Perhaps this
blog entry is an example of his jocularity which escapes a dour, humorless,
non-reform person like me. But given the current city climate (thanks to his
indefatigable search for ordinances which don't really mean what they say)
I'd guess he wasn't joking.
Hope to see you all tonight for the weekly Bob and Roy Show, sponsored by
Joel Plaskon and Gary Reidner Inc.
Rose Huskey
"And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of
the brook, and put them in a shepherd's bag which he had, even in a scrip;
and his sling [was] in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine. "
1 Samuel 17:40
