Schools aren't leaving

The school district is not leaving the downtown area! In the current Moscow
School District proposal, the 1938 high school will continue to be used by
our education, artistic and governmental communities for many vital
purposes. Over 100 high school students will continue to use the building
during the day and evening hours, plays and performances by students and
community groups will be enjoyed in the auditorium, sporting events will
still be experienced in the gym, new educational opportunities for students
and adults through community outreach education will happen in a new
vocational center and the county will gain critically needed space in the
annex adjacent to the current county services building.

In the proposal the older annex will be demolished and replaced with
additional green space and much-needed parking. The open space will enable
the community to view the historic high school while the parking serves the
high school, 1912 Center, Methodist Church and neighboring business.

The current bond will benefit every child taking advantage of our exemplary
schools. It will also benefit the larger Moscow education, artistic and
governmental communities. Please join me in voting yes on April 26.

Take care, Moscow.

Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will
stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving
path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so
far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb.

-Sir Winston Churchill
