"$10/hour" Well, Tom I think that is too much for what you do.
Also keep in mind that the majority of people on SSI only get less then $450
a month and only $120 a month in food stamps.
You ask what I have do for the taxpayers. Well, for one, I am legally
entitled a disability check of $617 a month. But I do not collect it because
I am capable of working. I would rather the money go to the people that
cannot work. When I do work, I only make $8-10 hour. And I do not have
Tri-Care anymore. The university health insurance benefits I had were taken
from me. The only real coverage I have is catastrophic which is required by
UI because of Gritman.
So I do not know if giving up a $617 check each year is something. But
considering I only take home $1000 a month, it sure feels like. I do not
know how people with two kids make it on $1200 and the two older women
across the street from me make it on $650 a month.
That is why I am fighting to make sure that many people that are not able to
work and have limited income options do not have to keep paying higher taxes
and rent. I also know that many of people with disabilities are having to
get housing outside Moscow and none are moving in because their federal
checks do not increase at the same rate Moscow is increasing there costs of
living and benefits.
You cannot keep raising taxes and the rent on the poor while cutting their
benefits and not expect to soon hit a point where they cannot afford to live
here anymore.
Mr. Hansen, could you afford to live in Moscow on just your disability
income?
I also have checked your times for posting. You do use taxpayer computers
to post. I do not know if you are suppose to be working because I do not
know your hours. But the times are varied all over the place if you look
them up under author on the V2020 archives. Except 2 PM I could find every
time of the day you posted.
Enjoy your beer.
