Steve Lindsey posted some questions about the new dog park (see his post at
the end of this message).
Roger Blanchard of the parks dept responded to those questions.
>From Roger Blanchard:
After the Council approved the project, the project
> engineer needed to submit drawings to receive permits for excavation and
> construction of the retaining wall adjoining the dog park. The temporary
> access road into the bus garage was installed today. The contractor hopes
> to begin constructing the new access tomorrow. City staff is mobilizing
to
> relocate the parking area and storm drains, begin grading the site for
> expansion of the dog park and the animal shelter "get acquainted" area,
and
> relocating Avista's transformer. Staff is currently surveying the site
and
> developing plans for the work to be done there this fall. The expanded
dog
> park area will be seeded this fall and the new fencing installed in the
> spring. The new dog park area will be opened for use after the grass is
> established in late spring. The existing area will remain open for use
> throughout the winter. I hope this information is helpful.
