The panelists for the discussion were Dr. Roy Atwood, President of New St. Andrews College; Dr. Rula Awwad-Rafferty, Faculty for the UI Architecture; Dr. Dale Graden, Faculty for the UI History Department; Thomas Lawford III, a conservative activist; and Russell Miller, Faculty for the UI College of Law.  Panelists answered questions from the audience and expressed their views on the film and its message.  The intent of the panel was to promote dialog about the movie within the community.

Fahrenheit 9/11 is Michael Moore’s view on what has happened in America since the 2000 Presidential election.  The movie explores the controversial election of George W. Bush, the repercussions of September 11, 2001 on American foreign and domestic policy, the USA Patriot Act, the war in Iraq and the Bush family’s relationship with the royal house of Saud of Saudia Arabia.  Moore uses interviews, archived footage and his brand of antics to explain why President Bush cannot be trusted to have America’s best interest at heart.

The event was underwritten by Book People of Moscow, Tie Dye Everything and The Palouse Peace Coalition.
