Thank you, Wayne.

I strongly support your position and urge you to continue as you have always
done.

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are
dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all
exist very nicely in the same box.

Donovan, et al,

I post news articles and commentary for a number of reasons.

Not everyone has subscriptions to the various news services. Although many
probably don't read the things I post, some do. I receive many off-list
replies
and thank-yous for the information and questions about further sources. [I
sometimes get thank-yous and/or comments from some who disagree with almost
everything I say and think I am the number one asshole.]

Part of my motivation is to encourage discussion with the issues these
articles
deal with without first imposing my own radical views.

Articles such as the one on the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes show interested
readers the economic benefits of public investment in healthy, low
environmental
impact, family oriented recreation. Some community members may start
thinking
about linking our local trails to the networks under
construction/consideration
thus providing more healthy recreational and economic opportunities for our
community.

I posted the article on the very unfortunate high rate of mental illness
found
in returning vets from Iraq to publicize the need for us to lobby for the
resources to make these vets as whole again as possible and not treat them
like
veterans of past wars, many of whom are ignored, very poorly treated, or
seen as
pariahs to be sequestered after they have served as our CIC has ordered.

The news/commentary posted on religious matters is intended to inform and
generate discussion on the hypocrisy and other characteristics of selected
religious professionals and/or organizations and about religious belief
itself.

Sometimes I do comment on the issues raised by the posted articles if they
generate discussion. Many times it is not necessary to post opinions
because
others post lucid, well-written commentary on them.

| Mr Fox writes, "I didn't realize that subscribers to this list were the
only
| ones in the world whose ideas merit consideration. Please forgive my
| ignorance."
|
| I didn't realize that posting endless articles without any statement of
| opinion was consideration of someone's opinion. To me it is just
| demonstrating your ability to attach files, and/or copy and paste. I would
| very much like to hear your opinions on the articles that you post and
would
| appreciate you just providing a link to the article rather than posting
it,
| especially ones with huge files that take up so much memory unnecessarily.
| Again, I know people have brains, why don't people share what is in them
| rather than just posting articles we have already read.
|
| Take Care,
|
