Ben brought up Bob Edwards again, as I've been meaning to:
1) I miss him.
2) His interview with Bill Moyers on NOW (great show that one) strongly
implied that he was forced off the show by NPR, implying also that NPR is
trying to appeal to younger, hipper audiences. If I recall, that's not what
we talked about on this listserve, so I still wish I could protest.
Young (well, middle-aged), hip and missing Bob,
Amy Smoucha

Subject: [Vision2020] Mr. Rumsfeld's testimony
Date: Fri, 7 May 2004 14:21:37 -0700 (PDT)
Rose Huskey referred to "that repugnant, self serving,
excuse-making, little monster, Don Rumsfelt."
Rose, I assume that your perception of Mr. Rumsfeld
was reinforced by his testimony today. If this is the
case, I would be interested to hear which portion(s)
you found (most) troubling. I listened to most of the
testimony on NPR and was at times pleasantly surprised
by Mr. Rumsfeld's candidness and humility. (And no, I
do not usually consider Mr. Rumsfeld candid or humble,
nor am I defending his actions.)
Not arguing, just curious,
Ben Twigg
P.S. Speaking of NPR, any thoughts on the first week
of Morning Edition without Bob Edwards?
