Normal Folks,

Ben Twigg did not nail the circular argument problem expressed below.

What Ben correctly pointed out was a weakness in my argument linking Kirker
PS Stile with Logos and NSA classes in logic.  I fixed that in a subsequent
posting.


Here's the fallacious argument again.

Kirker PS Stile argues:

[A]    The bible is true because it is the word of god.
        How do you know the bible is the word of god?
        The bible says so.
        How do we know what the bible says is true?
        See [A].


The is a classic example of a circular argument -- a fallacious argument
form assuming as true what you are trying to prove.


PS Stile: Respond to the charge that the argument just above is fallacious
with something other than Christians have done it for a long time (as they
believed for a long time that the earth was flat and mental illness was
caused by the possession of demons).

If you admit that argument is circular, why not just say so.
