Visionheads:
Welcome to Sunday school. Our verse for today will be John 8:44 —— “When he
speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of
it.”
Today we have before us a textbook case of Dougspeak. If he couldn't leave a
false impression, he’d have to leave a bad one. Hence his serial lies.
Today's lesson: Whenever you ask Wilson a question, you have to use the most
technically precise words in the dictionary, or else you will not get a
straight answer. (Even then, there’s no guarantee he’ll speak the truth.) If
you allow him any amount of wiggle room, he will slip through it like a
snake.
First, Bill London asked,
“Ethan said the casino was OK’ed by another Christ Church officer. You say
that the statement, as it stands, is false. Does that mean that Ethan never
said the casino was OK’ed by a Christ Church officer?”
Kyle Wilson answered,
“You understood me correctly. Ethan did not tell us that a church officer
okayed the casino, which is good, because a church officer never did.”
But Bill London did not notice Wilson’s qualifier in his original answer ——
“as it stands.” In other words, if London had reframed the question with
more exact terminology, Wilson would have given a different answer. Remember
that you’re dealing with a two year old in a 50-year-old’s body, and he will
pitch fits before he comes clean. WAAHHH!!!!
London should have asked,
“The dougsplotch.hate website says,
‘“The dean of NSA is so empty that he actually blamed the casino’s existence
on another Christ Church officer, saying that Ethan “received permission”
from that officer to open the illegal casino.’
“Doug, did Ethan or Roy ever state, suggest, or imply that at one time Ethan
believed he had some kind of permission or approval from another church
officer to open the casino?
“Did you ever represent to the HOH that either you, Roy, or Ethan believed
that he had ‘tacit permission’ in the matter of the casino?”
“Can you explain why the February 2002 Christ Church HOH minutes state:
“‘Doug Wilson reported that, at the elder-deacon meeting, he recommended to
the elders that Roy be asked to withdraw his letter of resignation, which
they have done. Because of some information the elders have recently
received, they no longer believe that Ethan is or has been in high rebellion
regarding the gambling activity. This does not excuse Ethan’s behavior in
any way, but changes Roy’s and the elders’ interpretation of his behavior.’
“Doug, what information made the elders change their interpretation of
Ethan’s behavior?”
Second, Bill London asked,
“Casino players who won the $1000 refuse to return the money. This also you
say, as it stands, is false. Does that mean that the casino players who won
the $1000 did not refuse to return the money?”
And Douglas the Spinner answered,
“The casino players who won the money from the house did not refuse when we
told them to pay it back.”
But once again, London failed to notice Wilson’s qualifier in his original
answer —— “as it stands.” London should have asked,
“I understand that you allege one player did not return the money to the
casino house because he said the house forgave him. But this does not
explain the remaining outstanding debts owed by the other players. Moreover,
from March 2003 to October 2003, the Christ Church website said,
‘“Those who owed Brett Bauer money (due to lost bets) followed our counsel,
and did not pay him. But those who needed to give him money did not.’
“Please explain why your own website said that ‘those who needed to give him
money did not.’”
And to top it all off, somebody should ask Wilson,
“I noticed that the tape mentions someone named ‘Matt,’ who is not named in
the Payoff Letter. How come the Payoff Letter doesn’t mention him? Is he
from out of town? Did you notify his parents?”
Classroom, thank you for your attention during this lesson in Dougspeak. May
God richly bless you.
I am the Captain at your service.
PS: Earlier this morning when I wrote that Jones sold his soul to the devil,
I forgot to mention how much Wilson paid. While I am not sure of the exact
amount, I believe it lies somewhere between $1000 out of the tithe and 30
pieces of silver.
