Dear Auntie:

I don't think Debbie wants to hear about Jane Siberry. Debbie is busy
cleaning up after a flood caused by a curious child. Curiosity did what to the cat?
 Or to little people?

I believe music should not be intellectualized too much. I often avoid
reading about artists and art I love, to leave my personal experience untainted by
possible revelations that will lessen the perfection of the grand gestalt of
emotion, imagination and sensation of art. Passages in Beethoven's late
quartets send shivers up my spine, yet I know very little about the technical
compositional details of this music, considered by some to be the greatest work of
Beethoven, and some of the greatest music ever conceived. I listen with my
body, which is an astonishing expression of the "Mind of the Universe," whatever
that is. Oh wait! It is the title of an album by Japanese artist Isao
Tomita. Another obsession.

Well, maybe a human interest story about Siberry would inspire some
curiosity.
Maybe Jane could kiss Madonna on MTV to bump up her album sales, like Spears'
stunt?
I'll volunteer.

Better yet, see and listen to her. She is playing the Past Theater in
October in Milwaukee with Cristina Branco. After checking on Christina Branco, I am
even more interested in this performance:
